Enjoy a cruisy ride from Esk to Toogoolawah (no gullies and no steep hills) for a mellow Gourmet BBQ as the sun sets on the terrace of 'The Condensery - Somerset Regional Art Gallery' in Toogoolawah.
Then ride back after dark.
Enjoy a gourmet BBQ prepared by The Picnic Society.

Choice of Dessert - BBQ fruit skewers in brandy or Grilled mango with creme fraiche and honeycomb.
Plunger tea or coffee with home made chocolate.
The exhibition on at the gallery is Intimate Intensity, an exhibition of works by Australian artist, Ian Friend.
"Ian Friend is best known for his subtle and evocative works on paper. With a fascination for the alchemy of materials and an obsession with handmade paper, Friend’s works are made through processes that speak to the artist’s reverence for the materiality of making. Repeated layers of ink and gouache are laid down and then inscribed with lines of crayon and pencil. Through a process of push and pull, addition and subtraction, the works gradually move towards resolution and articulate a space that is both intimate and expansive.
Friend’s practice also reflects his passion for jazz, classical music, poetry and architecture. The exhibition title is from Gaston Bachelard’s The Poetics of Space; a seminal text on architecture that looks at poetry, art, and consciousness itself to examine the domestic places that shape and hold dreams and memories. This is reflected in Friend’s work which contains the artist’s own archaeology of place, time, and memory: the Cretaceous eroding landscape of East Sussex where Friend grew up lives in the chalky pigment; time spent reading philosophy, history and poetry are in the structure of the works and sometimes in the titles; and music can be found in the flow of materials."
Meet in Lars Andersen Place near Pipeliner Park in Esk at 3.00 pm (plenty of parking with overflow in the adjacent Highland St). Depart for Toogoolawah at 3.30 pm.
Plenty of accommodation available in Esk for anyone that wants to make a weekend of it - Esk Caravan Park has two motels and cabins in addition to camping and caravanning, and the Esk Grand Hotel Pub offers good pub accommodation.
This event is graded as Easy and is suitable for mountain bikes, hybrids, gravel bikes and touring bikes. Bright off-road lights that can last for at least 2 hours are mandatory.
Night riding gives a whole new dimension to the BVRT experience, and this ride is a good preparation for the more challenging and hugely popular Yarraman to Linville night ride later in the year.
Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association reserves the right to postpone this ride in the event of adverse weather conditions or other such factors that could affect the safety of participants.
We are all ambassadors for our sport - the BVRT code of conduct must be followed at all times.
Bike must be suitable for off-road cycling (eg. MTB/Gravel bike/Hybrid/ e-MTB).
Please bring a basic tool kit including puncture repair kit and spare inner tube (unless tubeless) and a basic first aid kit, including a snake bite bandage and know how to use it (plenty of YouTube videos).
Participation in this event is entirely at your own risk. We recommend membership of an organisation such as Bicycle Queensland or Auscycling that includes public liability and accident insurance or having your own accident and public liability insurance.
Mountain biking and trail riding can be dangerous activities - registration and participation in this event is an acknowledgement that you have read and fully accept our terms and conditions and that the organisers will not be held liable for any accident you may have, regardless of the circumstances.

The BVRT Users Association reserves the right to postpone or cancel the ride in the event of adverse weather, bushfires, or any other factor that may affect the safety of participants. A choice of full refund or transfer to the new date will be offered.
