This year the fully supported Brisbane Chicks Who Ride Bikes ride will be from Benarkin to Yarraman and back (48 km), including a stop for morning tea at Yarraman Bakery.
Enjoy one of the most scenic sections of Queensland's great adventure rail trail, with big skies and wide landscapes, all off-road and traffic free, with great bakeries, pubs and coffee shops in the towns along the way...and even an ice cream shop in Yarraman as a special treat.
This is a change from the previously announced route of our annual BCWRB ride which was originally 62 km Toogoolawah to Fernvale with a coach transfer from Fernvale to Toogoolawah. To ensure COVID safety, we now avoid the use of transport and the new route is a delightful out and back ride, well worth the extra distance driving.
In keeping with earlier consultations with BCWRB, partners welcome, but no unaccompanied males except in the support crew.
Of course, this event is open to women from all over Queensland, you don't have to be a member of Brisbane Chicks Who Ride Bikes on Facebook. but it's a great women's cycling advocacy group, so we encourage you to join.
This ride is suitable for cyclists of all abilities provided you can ride at least 48 km. There are a few steep gullies that can easily be walked, but no big hills. MTBs and gravel bikes recommended.
Registration fee will be $25 to cover morning tea and insurance costs.
If the weather is kind to us it will be a super day out.
All our events are compliant with the Industry COVID SAFE PLAN for Outdoor Recreation Activity Providers.
Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association reserves the right to postpone this tour in the event of adverse weather conditions or other such factors that could affect the safety of participants.
