The historic and picturesque little village of Linville located just 7 km north of Moore is an excellent jumping off point for horse-riding, walking or cycling on the very scenic section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail between Linville and Blackbutt.
The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail climbs up the Blackbutt Range at a steady 3° to 5° ascent with great valley views before entering the Benarkin Forest which is famous for the sound of the bellbirds. MacNamara’s camp with a shade gazebo with seating and a chemical toilet provides an excellent mid-way resting spot and don’t miss the hidden rock pool just behind the park bench in the adjacent shady creek gully as you head northwards.
Linville features a pub offering overnight accommodation and great pub meals. The pub serves lunch 7 days a week.
There is also small village shop offering basic necessities and coffee in the coffee bar.
The very popular Linville free overnight caravan and camping area with horse yards is located by the old railway station directly on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail where power and some amenities are available, also for free! More info…
