We're excited to announce the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association Inc is bringing you the BVRT Festival of Cycling on August 3, 2024!

With a choice 4 distances - 161 km starting in Wulkuraka, 75 km starting in Toogoolawah, 50 km starting in Moore and 20km starting in Blackbutt, plus a great event village at the finish line in Yarraman, this is rail trail gravel cycling at its best.

In a world where prices are rising everywhere, we have frozen cost of entry at 2021 rates.

Choose your personal challenge and prove what you can do. Off-road fun for all levels of ability. All profits go to supporting our projects to improve the rail trail experience.

What's included?

  • Fully supported ride – first aid, bike mechanics, ride marshals and support vehicles.
  • Event timing
  • Food and water stations with water, bananas, lollies and baked goods.
  • Event photos by Element Video and Photo Productions
  • Finish at Yarraman Station Park, including music, food, and stalls.
  • Return shuttle available for purchase for all except the 20km distance.

This is a fully supported cycling event.

There will be several ride marshals riding with you on the track, plus first aiders, a bike mechanic and support vehicles in case you run into any problems.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail can be a bit rough in places, so this bike ride is more suitable for mountain bikes, gravel bikes and cyclocross bikes. Legal E-MTBs are welcome.

Transport

Providing transport for an event in a remote rural location is always a bit of a challenge, and expensive. Shuttle transport back to the start lines can be purchased when you purchase your entry tickets but there may be a bit of a wait. Alternatively, you can make your own arrangements (please scroll down after you have registered to purchase a transport ticket if required).

Please note transport places will be allocated and you will need to obtain a 'boarding pass' when you register at the start. For Moore and Toogoolawah there will be an limited option to book transport from Yarraman to your start point prior to the event in the morning so you can leave your car in Yarraman.

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association reserves the right to postpone this event in the event of adverse weather conditions or other such factors that could affect the safety of participants.

Start Times

161 km: Starting in Wulkuraka, kick-off at dawn and push your limits to the finish line in Yarraman. (Start time 6.00 am.)
75 km: Begin your ride in Toogoolawah and traverse a route filled with scenic views and varying terrains. (Start time 8.00 am.)
50 km: Set off from Moore for a gratifying half-century ride that balances challenge and charm. (Start time 9.00 am.)
20 km: A new addition aimed at families and novice riders looking for a fun-filled day out, starting near the Roy Emerson Museum in Blackbutt. (Start time 10.00 am.)

Check-in is from one hour before the Start time.

The Finish time for all distances is 4.30 pm. For your safety, anyone arriving in Blackbutt after 3.30 pm will not be permitted to continue as we don't want participants to be out on the trail after dark. Transport to Yarraman will be arranged.
